Korean electronics giant Samsung is expanding its range of LED-backlit LCD monitors.
The new 50 and 30 series monitors not only have reduced power consumption but also reduced hazardous materials in construction.
According to Samsung, the new range has “no or few” environmentally hazardous materials, no lead or mercury and have 40% reduced power draw.
The company has also incorporate preset options for brightness levels at 100%, 75%, 50% and power-saving off mode, based on energy consumption. Both series also meet Energy Star 5.0 standards for power consumption.
All units offer two-millisecond response times and full HD (1920×1080-pixel) resolution.
The difference between the 30 and 50 series is the Magic Return feature built into the 50 series – it automatically redirects content from one screen to another if a user is running two screens and one screen is disconnected or shuts down.
No details on price, models or availability have yet been released by Samsung.
